Millbay will feature a wide range of apartments and houses that vary in size, tenure and cost and will generate a stimulating and varied urban quarter. All designed around quiet streets with individual squares to create a unique community.
Millbay will offer 1,232 housing units, of which 25 per cent will be affordable homes, as well as 39 live/work units set in high quality public realm with open access to the waterfront, new public squares and a tree-lined boulevard linking Millbay to Plymouth City Centre.
Residents will move in to the first Millbay development in summer 2008. Cargo comprimises of 134 apartments and town houses, including 33 affordable homes and 1765 sq m of business space on the ground floor.
Summer 2008 will see the opening of the new Millbay marketing and information suite, which will stand at a key gateway to the development, between Millbay Road and Ferry Approach Road. Built to an innovative design from recycled shipping containers, the marketing and information suite will feature office and exhibition space, a show flat on the first floor and a four-storey viewing tower with views over the waterfront.
